In 2019, Brampton Station was adopted by Lanercost CoE Primary School.

Their first project was to make the station more colourful and welcoming.  The children designed a mosaic helped by their Art Teacher.  The mosaic depicts the countryside in and around Lanercost, a village about 4 miles to the north east of the station.  Every child in the school was involved in making the mosaic with a little help from some of their parents. Alison Clarricoats, Headteacher, said “We are very proud to have adopted Brampton Station and that our mosaic and planters will be seen by commuters and visitors”.  The children, helped by Elaine Nightingale, Foundation Governor of the School, planted up troughs with colourful plants.  Errington Reay, Bardon Mill Pottery, kindly donated the planters and plants were provided by Oakbank Nursery, Brampton.
