The Old Waiting Room 

Our Lyric and Line project commenced in 2019 when singer songwriter, Gareth Davies Jones, worked with three local groups, Haltwhistle's Zig Zag, Gibside School and Hexham's Journey to explore some of the barriers to travel by people who did not usually travel by train.

We we fortunate to be awarded 1st prize at the Community Rail Awards in December 2020 for this project. 

 Since then we have worked with Gareth and other groups using music and song to inspire them explore rail travel and the local area.

A new exhibition featuring the each of the mini projects will be touring the area from late 2024 but in the meantime read about the project here
