We are encouraging young people, or others looking for a new challenge and a change of job,  to consider careers in the rail industry.  There are so many career opportunities available; it's not just train drivers, conductors and station staff.  There are admin, marketing and finance jobs, legal, human resources, IT, communications and social media posts, and practical jobs such as coachbuilders, fitters, electricians, welders, plant operatives and track workers, signallers - the list of jobs is long and very varied.  Opportunities are available with the passenger and freight train companies, Network Rail and with companies in the supply chain.  

Apprenticeships provide a route to learning skills and your future; there are undergraduate placements and graduate entry schemes.  For those looking for a change of career, your skills may be transferable into a job in the rail industry.
