Trains travel very frequently from The Metrocentre to stations on the route to Newcastle and Carlisle. For up to date information also see:

98 trains a day (97 on a Saturday and 82 on a Sunday) call at Metrocentre's own railway station. From Sunderland and Newcastle trains run every 15 minutes during the day, less frequently during evenings and on Sundays.

With almost 330 shops and 50 restaurants nowhere in Europe have you got more retailers, restaurants and leisure attractions.

Also in the Blue Mall and close to the railway station is the bus station, from where buses run to/from Gateshead, Consett, Stanley as well as to the adjoining Metro Retail Park, Asda and Ikea.
