Information

Trains travel frequently from Stocksfield to stations on the route to Newcastle and Carlisle. For up to date information also see:

While Stocksfield itself was built in Victorian times with the coming of the railway, the hamlets and parishes surrounding it go back for many centuries.

Thomas Bewick the famous artist, engraver and naturalist was born at nearby Cherryburn - now a National Trust museum. Stocksfield also has connections with modern day celebrities including Rowan Atkinson, Tim Healy & Denise Welsh.

Why not try a walk through the countryside between Stocksfield and Prudhoe stations (3.5 miles), or from Stocksfield to Riding Mill station via Broomley Woods? Details of both walks and others from Stocksfield are available on the Parish Council website.

Stocksfield is the nearest station to the site of the Northumberland County Show, the first major agricultural show of the season which takes place every year on the late May Bank Holiday Monday.
