2019 should be an exciting year for the Tyne Valley Railway

We have extended a warm welcome to Anne Ridley, our new Marketing Director, who joined us in January 2019.

Anne comes to TVCRP with extensive experience from the Settle Carlisle Railway, where she worked in various roles, most recently as Operations Manager, over a period of nearly 19 years. This after long service working with Cumbria Constabulary.

Haltwhistle Booking Hall InteriorFor the first time ever, the Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership will be participating in Heritage Open Days, over two days Friday 8th and Saturday 9th September 2017.

This will be at Haltwhistle station on the Newcastle to Carlisle railway line, Britain’s first cross country railway, which runs parallel to Hadrian’s Wall. Not only is this a first for us, but we shall be opening the 1901 Haltwhistle Grade ll listed signal box. This is one of the BBC’s top ten signal boxes. Access is being granted courtesy of Network Rail and Northern.

Very positive news being received by users of the re-opened Hexham kiosk this morning by Journey Enterprises. The kiosk will be termed the 'Whistle Stop' and will be open Monday to Friday 7am-2pm.

A big day for the Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership. It has been the launch with the guests including two MPs of a tri-partite partnership: Ourselves, Newcastle College Rail Academy and Cross Country. The months ahead will see Rail Academy students undertaking practical tasks along the line. Cross Country has funded a classroom and this superb photo montage.
