For the first time ever, the Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership will be participating in Heritage Open Days, over two days Friday 8th and Saturday 9th September 2017.
This will be at Haltwhistle station on the Newcastle to Carlisle railway line, Britain’s first cross country railway, which runs parallel to Hadrian’s Wall. Not only is this a first for us, but we shall be opening the 1901 Haltwhistle Grade ll listed signal box. This is one of the BBC’s top ten signal boxes.
